Feed Giraffes On This 350 Acre Safari In New Jersey

Lions, Tigers, and Giraffes, oh my! Those are just a few of the many animals you'll see as you ride through the 350-acre safari park at Six Flags Great Adventure! The amusement park located in Jackson, New Jersey, is home to world-renown rollercoasters King Da Ka and El Toro, Hurrican Harbor Water Park, and Safari Off-Road Adventure.

The park opened in 1974 initially being a self drive through safari it was revamped in 2012 as a new adventure included with admission to the amusement park. You'll hop aboard large offroad safari trucks and embark on your journey through six different continents where you'll encounter over 1,200 different animals.

This experience is entirely different from that of a zoo. As you travel through the lands, the animals roam within touching distance, sometimes even putting their heads in the truck.

Halfway through the 45-minute adventure, you'll have a chance to offload at Camp Adventura. Here you can pet and view smaller animals, zip line over the safari, and best of all hand feed some giraffes for the perfect photo op.

If you're into a private one on one safari, you can upgrade to a VIP safari tour. This experience allows you to get even closer to the animals. Your journey will be done in a special Land Rover and is about 2.5 - 3 hours of safari adventure.
